Dear friends,

To best characterize this lucky 13th edition of Pietrasanta in concerto, I will draw inspiration from the title of our opening concert: « The colors of music ».
In a city widely known for its considerable artistic wealth, what could be more appropriate?
With the rainbow-like colors of Gilles Apap, the luminous fireworks from Vadim Repin's Stradivarius, the warm sound waves from Guy Braunstein's violin and the fluorescent, electric world of Jean-Luc Ponty, you will be dazzled by the multifaceted sound of my favorite instrument, the violin!
The thriving musical life of Berlin, one of the world's music capitals, will be presented in two concerts that are not to be missed.
But there is more still! We will host three great Russian pianists, Boris Berezovsky, Denis Khozukhin, and Konstantin Lifshitz as well the ultimate American in Paris, Eric Himy, and Italy's piano phenomenon Vanessa Benelli Mosell. The star cellist Jing Zhao will bring her hypnotic virtuosity to the Festival and for a red hot finale, the powerful Russian cellist Alexander Kniaziev will electrify the Chiostro with his 1000-volt energy. David Krakauer, the legendary founder of the Klezmatics, will introduce us to his world with the pianist Kathleen Tagg, and Sonico’s tango performance will bring to life a great composer, Eduardo Rovira, that Italian audiences will be thrilled to discover.
All in all, a great exhibition of talents, colors and brushstrokes awaits your visit!

Thank you Pietrasanta, many thanks to all our sponsors, and thank you for joining us again this summer.
