Lulu Wang

Professor Lulu Wang is the esteemed Deputy Dean of the College of Music and Dance at Shenzhen University. As a distinguished accordionist, she holds a Ph.D. from the Würzburg University of Music in Germany.

Professor Wang's exceptional talent has been recognized with over a dozen international awards. Among her many honors, she was crowned champion at the 45th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal and received the "Outstanding Talent Award" from the Accordion Teachers Association of Germany. Her band, "Duo Animé," was also bestowed with the "Special Recording Prize" from WDR-Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk. A highlight of her career includes a third-place finish at the renowned 16th Arrasate Hira - International Accordion Competition in Spain, often referred to as the "Paganini Competition of Accordion." She has also claimed the championship at the "Wolfgang Fisher-Flach" Internal Academy Chamber Music Competition and secured the first place at the Würzburg Accordion Competition in Germany.

Her performances have graced prestigious stages, such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts, where she collaborated with the world-renowned cellist Zhao Jing. She has premiered significant works, including Hyunkyung Lim's "Sudden Stop I" with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra and Adriana Hölszky's ballet "Deep Field" with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.

Professor Wang has been invited to perform at a variety of music festivals and events, including the Beijing Modern Music Festival, China Mercedes-Benz International Music Festival, Korea ARKO Contemporary Orchestra Music Festival, Munich Opera Festival, Donaueschingen Music Festival, Japan Contemporary Music Festival, and the International Music Festival by the China Central Conservatory of Music.

In partnership with China Records (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Pacific Video Company, she has released three albums: "Dialogue With Muse," "Ballet Tango," and "Symphonic Fantasie and Allegro for Accordion and Chamber Orchestra."

Dedicated to the research and interpretation of modern music and original accordion pieces, Professor Wang's virtuosity extends beyond the classical realm.

Her performances have been highly praised by the international press. Publications such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, Südkurier, and InterMusik have described her artistry as "touching, emotionally influential, and harmonious."
