Born in Nagoya (Japan), Akane Sakai began her piano studies at early age under the influence of her mother. After graduated Toho-Gakuen School of music in the class of Midori Miura, she obtained a 1er prix with excellence guided by Alan Weiss at Lemmens Instituut (Belgium). Equally her advanced training she guided by Lilya Zilberstein and Pavel Gililov. She is the prize-winner of the Young artist development by the Japanese Ministry of Culture and also obtained a scholarship by Yellow Angel Foundation in Japan. She regularly appears in the musical scenes including such as Salle Pleyel in Paris, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Theatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Triphony Hall in Tokyo etc. Collaborations with Kremerata Baltica (Conducting/Piano), Tokyo Symphony Orchestra (Naoto Ohtomo), Sinfonia Varsovia (Jean- Jacques Kantorow). Recital for NHK TV. Also she play the Bach’s Concerto for 3 pianos with Boris Berezovsky and Yu Kosuge. She is regularly invited to the various festivals: Progetto Martha Argerich, Chopin and his europe in Warsaw., Pacific Music Festival (Japan), La Folle Journée, La Roque d’Antheron. Akane loves chamber music, already had opportunities to play with such as Martha Argerich, Lilya Zilberstein, Ivry Gitlis Her recording in the frame of Martha Argerich and Friends by EMI and also 2012 in summer will be release the new series of Progetto Argerich by DG(Deutsche Grammphone)which she plays with Martha Argerich. She has recorded for DG and Warner Classics and made her solo CD debut by King International Japan including Stravinsky’s « Le sacre du printemps «  with Martha Argerich.
