Gioele Balestrini
- Percussion
Born in 1996, Gioele Balestrini is a percussionist active on the contemporary music scene, with a particular dedication to the technical and expressive exploration of the marimba.
After obtaining his Bachelor's degree at the “G.B. Pergolesi” Conservatory in Fermo, he earned his Master's degree with highest honors and a Special Mention at the Conservatory of Bari under the guidance of Maestro Filippo Lattanzi.
His interpretative sensitivity has inspired several composers, including Francesco Leineri, Mattia Clera, Matteo d’Amico, and Marcello Filotei, to dedicate original works to him. Among these, special mention should be made of Sogno Indiano for solo marimba by Francesco Leineri (published by Ermes 404), which he premiered at the 7th edition of the Mugellini Festival.
This commitment to contemporary repertoire has led him to perform at festivals such as the Nuova Consonanza Festival and the Reate Festival, where he received the award for Best Performer of Contemporary Music. Among his most recent and prestigious collaborations is his work with composer Matteo Franceschini as part of the NEON project.
He also collaborates regularly with the Marchigiana Philharmonic Orchestra, performing alongside internationally renowned soloists such as Albrecht Mayer and Luigi Piovano.
Alongside his concert activity, he is currently deepening his research into sound through audio recording and music production, overseeing projects that combine instrumental performance with modern recording technologies.
