NANI MEDEIROS
Nani Medeiros is a Brazilian singer with Portuguese roots, originally from Porto Alegre, in southern Brazil. She has been working with music since 2012. In 2014, she released her first self-titled EP, and in October 2017, she launched her first full-length album, titled “Valentia”, featuring entirely new compositions by emerging songwriters in Brazilian Popular Music.
Nani Medeiros' musical expression is closely tied to Brazilian musical traditions, encompassing fundamental genres such as canção (song), choro, samba, and bossa nova, which are harmoniously intertwined with fado. These musical styles are naturally integrated into her singing and shape her projects, reflecting her commitment to introducing new composers and original songs and illustrating the contemporary evolution of these genres and their forms of expression.
Nani has shared the stage with several artists, including Fito Paez, maestro João Carlos Martins, Vanessa da Mata, Tito Paris, Maria João, Kátia Guerreiro and Raquel Tavares, among others. She has performed in several countries, including Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece and China, as well as in various states across Brazil.
Currently residing in Lisbon, Portugal, she released two new works in 2024: the EP “Travessia”, recorded entirely live, blending the language of Portuguese fado with Brazilian music; and the EP “Tantos Poetas”, a collaboration with pianist and composer Cristóvão Bastos, featuring two previously unreleased songs composed by Bastos in collaboration with lyricist Roberto Didio.
Nani is also preparing to release a new album of original songs by composers from Brazil and Portugal, including Cristóvão Bastos, Dori Caymmi, Yamandu Costa, Elodie Bouny, Roberto Didio, Tiago Torres da Silva, and Paulo César Pinheiro, among others. The album is set to be released in late 2025 or early 2026.
