Music Without Borders

Music Without Borders

Our 2025 festival theme sets the stage for this year's extraordinary program. "Music Without Borders" celebrates the universal language of music through a diverse symphony of cultures from around the world.

From Brazil, we proudly present the Italian premiere of Antonio Santana's brilliant piano trio, essential Villa-Lobos compositions, and traditional folk songs that capture the heart of Brazilian musical heritage.

Argentina takes center stage with the Italian premiere of Eduardo Rovira's octets—"the other Piazzolla"—alongside recently rediscovered octets by Astor Piazzolla himself, offering a rare glimpse into Argentina's profound musical tradition.

Hungary's virtuoso Jenő Lisztes will dazzle audiences with his cymbalum mastery, while two of the greatest violinists of our generation—Maxim Vengerov and Vadim Repin—will transport us through the majestic Russian musical landscapes of Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.

Our global journey continues with the timeless works of Italy's Vivaldi, Poland's Chopin, Germany's Mendelssohn, and Spain's Sarasate, each representing the pinnacle of their national musical heritage.

We are thrilled to welcome mandolin phenomenon Avi Avital for his festival debut, featuring the Italian premiere of Avner Dorman's concerto. Andrea Griminelli, whose enchanting performances have become a cherished highlight of our festival, returns by popular demand!

Following the tremendous success of our inaugural masterclasses in 2024, we're proud to feature two exceptional concerts where our talented young students perform alongside their illustrious mentors: David Geringas and Jing Zhao (cello), Pierre-Henri Xuereb (viola), and Pavel Berman and Eva Bindere (violin).

Here in Pietrasanta, this dynamic alliance between tomorrow's virtuosi and today's maestri flourishes—the essence of our vision and our commitment to classical music's vibrant future at Pietrasanta and around the world.

tickets

You have a choice of buying your tickets(s) either online or from one of the points of sale in Pietrasanta. You may prefer the online option if you are planning your evening(s) ahead of time or if you are simply not based in Pietrasanta. And of course it’d guarantee your attendance as the cloister has a limited number of seats, in particular during these challenging times.
