Alexey Botvinov

The most famous Ukrainian pianist, Botvinov is one of the best specialists in Rachmaninoff music worldwide. Botvinov is the only pianist who performed Bach‘s „Goldberg Variations“ more than 300 times on stage. Alexey Botvinov performed in over 45 countries. “Le Figaro” wrote about pianist’s CD of “Goldberg-Variations” - “Superbe!” . This recording landed on 2nd place in Swiss music-charts. Next recording- “Botvinov plays Rachmaninoff” (2002 ) was acclaimed as “ the best classical recording of the month” in Switzerland Recently Botvinov explores new ways of presenting classical music. Among his innovative projects there are “Piano and Drums” (together with world star-percussionist Burhan Ocal ) and “Piano Light Show”, where music and visual effects have converted a traditional concert into an amazing multimedia mystery. 2015 Botvinov initiated a new International Music Festival “ODESSA CLASSICS”, where he is President and artistic director. Annual Festival is sensational success and already became the most important classical music festival in the Ukraine and one of the leading festivals in Eastern Europe. 2018 Botvinov performed “Goldberg Variations” ballet in “La Scala”, Milano, with extraordinary success among audience and music critics. Italian press praised Botvinov performance as “ perfect interpretation of Bach masterpiece”, or “white magic on piano” etc. 2018-2019 Botvinov performed solo and with orchestras in such venues as Berlin Philharmony , Gewandhaus Leipzig, Zurich Tonhalle MAAG, Hamburg Filharmony, Beethovenhaus Bonn. 2019 Botvinov performances became sensational success on German Tournee with San Francisco “New Century Orchestra” under baton of Daniel Hope. Botvinov and Hope made recording of Alfred Schnittke album for “Deutsche Grammaphon”, which will be presented in 2020, and will be debut for Alexey Botvinov on famous “yellow label”.
