FEDOR RUDIN

"A brilliant display of artistry on the violin", says the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger about Fedor Rudin. Recently winning both Second Prize and Audience Prize at the prestigious 2018 Premio Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, the French-Russian violinist Fedor Rudin is quickly establishing himself as one of the most unique and polyvalent concert artists of today's generation. His numerous awards also include first prizes at Henri Marteau, Rodolfo Lipizer and Aram Khachaturian competitions, and a second prize at the George Enescu competition. His newest CD album "Reflets" together with pianist Florian Noack has been nominated for the International Classical Music Awards. His latest concert engagements included solo debuts at prestigious concert halls like Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium in New York, Cadogan Hall in London, Paris Philharmonie, Vienna Musikverein, Tonhalle Zurich, Cologne Philharmonie, Dusseldorf Tonhalle and Hamburg Laeiszhalle, with many world-renowned orchestras including the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of the Opéra Bastille, the Bulgarian National Orchestra, the Bretagne Symphony Orchestra, the Erfurt Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Nürnberg Symphony Orchestra, the Cape Town Philharmonic and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. He has played under the baton of Maxim Vengerov, Darrell Ang, Vladimir Altschuler, Christoph Poppen, Emil Tabakov & Conrad van Alphen.  Fedor has been also recently combining both playing and conducting. Notable performances include Tchaikovsky and Khachaturian concertos with the Georgian National Philharmonic, who had engaged Fedor as their guest conductor at the age of 20, as well as different Mozart concerti with Kobe City Chamber Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra and Munich Chamber Orchestra. In the upcoming 2018-19 season, Fedor is invited to perform with the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra of Rio de Janeiro as a soloist and as a conductor as well. He also had the chance to work with the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orquesta Reino de Aragon. A devoted chamber musician, Fedor is a founding member of Fratres Trio, hailed as "a new generation of classical music" by the press for their unusual combination of violin, saxophone and piano. The ensemble was a recipient of the Best of NRW Concert Series Award in Germany, and has received the Supersonic Award by Pizzicato Magazine for their CD release "Couleurs d'un Rêve". He is regularly performing at prestigious musical festivals such as the Salzburg Festival in Austria, ArtenetrA, Musée en Musique (where he won the Audience Prize in 2012), Périgord Noir and Giverny chamber music festivals in France, Braunschweig Classics and Oleg Kagan Festivals in Germany, Musica Riva in Italy, Crans Montana Classics in Switzerland, and Mozart Festival in Havana, Cuba. His chamber music partners include Michel Strauss, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Igor Levit, Itamar Golan, Francois Dumont, Laurent Korcia and Vadym Kholodenko. Born in Moscow in 1992 to a musicians’ family, Fedor's grandfather was the famous Russian avant-garde composer Edison Denisov. He has studied with Larissa Kolos, Miroslav Roussine, Svetlin Roussev, Zakhar Bron and Pierre Amoyal, before being enrolled in the conducting class of Prof. Simeon Pironkoff at the University of Music in Vienna in 2016. Fedor plays a fine Italian violin by Lorenzo Storioni made in Cremona in 1779, generously loaned to him by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Foundation in Hamburg. He became a laureate of French funds “Fondation d’entreprise Banque Populaire” (2013) and "Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet pour la Vocation" (2014), as well as winner of the "Prix Fondation Safran pour la Musique" Prize (2015).
