Set up in the spring of 2002 by the union of musicians who collaborate with the most important Italian and foreign orchestras, the Chamber Orchestra «I Musici di Parma» was established with the dual aim of both rediscovering unpublished works and disseminating masterpieces of all time. As a chamber and symphonic orchestra, it faces a wide repertoire ranging from baroque to classicism, up to the most beautiful pages of twentieth-century music, paying particular attention on the Italian melodrama and the arias and romances of the international opera. The «Musici di Parma» have accompanied in concert and recital musicians and singers of international fame. Among them, we can mention Christoph Hartmann, Andrea Oliva, Enrico Bronzi, Giovanni Gnocchi, Simonide Braconi, Stefano Pagliani, Francesco Manara, Francesco De Angelis, Andrea Lucchi, Emanuele Arciuli, Federico Mondelci, Mario Marzi, Renato Bruson, Daria Masiero, Katia Pellegrino, Katia Ricciarelli, Chiara Taigi, Carlo Colombara, Francesco Meli, Carmelo Corrado Caruso, and Federico Canonici. The Orchestra has stood out in the European music scene for the originality of its concert programs and the quality of its performances, greatly welcomed by both the public and critics. Among these, we can mention the «Galuppi Festival» of Venice, the «Guido Cantelli Festival» in Novara, the «Amfiteatrof Festival» in Levanto, the «Kultur und Kongresszentrum Luzern» Festival, the Martinskirche Festival in Basel. Moreover, we cannot avoid mentioning the Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan, where they performed with the singer Lu Wei, directed by Maestro Lü Jia, on the Anniversary of Relations between Italy and China; a concert broadcast in over 50 countries worldwide. The «Musici di Parma» manage the homonymous Academy of Music, and organize in Salsomaggiore Terme (province of Parma), the city where they reside at the prestigious Palazzo Berzieri, the «Salso Summer Class & Festival», this year at its ninth edition, and the review «Musica alle Terme» [Music at the Spa].
