THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR MICHAEL GUTTMAN PRESENTS **PIETRASANTA IN CONCERTO** 2013

«From Bach and his many gifted sons to Mozart, unique son of Leopold; from the Marsalis brothers to the Jackson Five, the history of music is filled with talented families, playing together and inspiring each other. Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, siblings, Clara and Robert Schumann, lovers, are other examples that have doubtless inspired some of the families visiting Pietrasanta this summer! Karin Lechner and Sergio Tiempo, brother and sister and one of the greatest piano duos of our times, Pinchas Zukerman and Amanda Forsyth, husband and wife, Boris and Evelyne Berezovsky, father and daughter, Mischa Maisky with Lily and Sascha, father and children, will show us how easy and beautiful it is to make music when love is involved. With Salvatore Accardo as Pater Familias of Italian musicians, Mario Brunello and Giovanni Sollima as outstanding members of the cello family, this seventh edition of our festival promises again to be as warm and welcoming as a big family gathering. And how fitting to have a family-run sponsor supporting us from the very beginning, the Edmond de Rothschild Group! Many thanks also to Mayor Lombardi and the City of Pietrasanta for providing such a beautiful home to all the musical families joining us this year».

Join me in a celebrating a great summer of music,
Michael Guttman
Music Director
